A small café in Coral Gables specializing in freshly brewed coffee. The décor is rustic like with mini jars for water and wooden tables.
Decided to go a Sunday morning for breakfast (breakfast is served all day). The place was packed and the flow of people was constantly with long wait. As mentioned space is limited, can hold maybe 30 to 40 people. Given the popularity of had high expectations but was just ok.
I ordered a cappuccino and it was delicious, strong, very hot.
I ordered the Emperor Nasi Goreng (the name intrigued me). This is an Indonesian fried rice with chicken, shrimp, and vegetables. It was very good but the description said load and that was not quite accurate, though it was missing a little. It is topped with a fried egg and mine was undercooked. Also the decoration of the dish was green jalapeños, which was not describe as being part of the dish, I had to spend 5 minutes picking out the jalapeños.
Also ordered my favorite the Egg Benedict, they were very good. Well cooked and really like the spinach addition.
Also ordered Waffle, was very good, soft, sweet, with vanilla mascarpone which was delicious and the best part of the dish. (Maple syrup is $0.50 extra, ridiculous).
I think it is overpriced, I was disappointed with my undercooked egg and jalapeños which were not describe as being part of the dish, I think they ran out of red chill (mentioned in the dish description) and thought jalapeños were the equivalent. Also ordered a hot chocolate and after a lengthy wait, the waiter came to informed that they had ran out.
The coffee was amazing, might return just for it, but definitely not for the food or the service.
