Anacapri Italian Restaurant
(305) 863-2088
This is a small Italian restaurant in the middle of Miami Springs. It was fairly empty when I got there at around 7:30 but by the time I was leaving at 9pm it was getting full, they even had to open up the second floor area.
The restaurant is cozy and gives you the feeling of being a home. It feels like being at home, just with much more pampering. There were several locals who appear to be regulars as the hostess and waiters all knew them and even knew what they were going to order. You don’t get that very often.
Right away the waiter asked what I wanted to drink and said that he would be bringing bread. Within a matter of minutes he brought out warm crunchy rolls with butter.
The menu is extensive and I needed several minutes to decide and had to also ask for suggestions.
For appetizer I had the Mozzarella Anacapri the description on the menu was mozzarella, ripe tomato, shaved prosciutto di parma and sun-dried. tomato. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. This is a dish I am not a fan off but order a lot at Italian restaurants because you can learn about the restaurant from the taste of the mozzarella cheese of the dish. I have ordered in other places but here given is an Italian place I would have liked a little more. The mozzarella was not freshly made and this is the main ingredient of the dish. The only thing I really enjoyed from this dish was the sundried tomatoes they were delicious. Also the prosciutto was very good not too salty.
For entrée had La Malafemmina linguini with shrimps, clams, mussels, lobster tail, white wine and fish broth.
Now this was amazing I was blown away. The smell was very impressive. All the seafood was very fresh. It had half a small lobster tail and 2 jumbo shrimp (would have like at least one more shrimp but the taste made up for it). I think the final ingredient to make the dish espectacular was the fish broth that the pasta was cook in it; giving the linguini that great taste. One thing I didn’t like was that I asked for cheese on my pasta (if you haven’t guessed yet, I’m a cheese lover). I was expecting fresh shredded parmesan cheese at table side. Well no the waiter brought grated parmesan cheese in a bowl and sprinkle it with a spoon on top of the dish. Wow, didn’t see that coming from an authentic and a bit expensive Italian restaurant. But no matter it still tasted delicious. The dish was quite large and maybe could share with someone else or take the leftover home. It have to say it was great.
After such a great meal dessert is not necessary but if there is room I would suggest the Tiramisu. It was amazing and is a fairly big square piece that can be shared.
I really liked it great service, delicious entrees, and dreamy dessert. I would go back to try something else. Maybe even become a regular as the ambiance and food is great.
