Cibo Wine Bar

Cibo Wine Bar is one of my favorite Italian restaurant. It is located in Coral Gables right on Miracle Mile. It brings together the classic Italian dishes in an ambiance that’s both great for the young and the old.

I didn’t have reservations so had to sit outside. I generally don’t like to sit outside because it is hot. This Friday night was no exception it was hot and the fans on the ceiling were on but it did nothing. The restaurant is located next to Tarpon Bend which was overly packed with extremely loud music.  A few minutes after we sat down I smelled smoke; someone was smoking close by, that’s something I can’t stand when I am eating, it was someone in the big crowd next door. I wanted to get up and leave but I stayed and honestly the food was worth it.

Right away or server bought there delicious freshly made bread with olive oil and vinegar. It was warm, soft, buttery, and the herbes on the crust were toasted and flavorful.

I order Sangria delicious it had fresh strawberries, blueberries, and grapes.

For entrée I couldn’t decide what I wanted to order, I was torn between the seafood risotto or the seafood linguini. The manager came by the table to ask how we were doing and asked if he could help me decide. He recommend the risotto.

For appetizer, had the Mozzarella Di Buffalo. It came with a big ball of fresh mozzarella with 4 slices of thick tomatoes, basil, with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  I am not a huge fan of this dish because I am not a big tomato lover but the mozzarella at Cibo is so fresh and delicious that I made an exception on this dishes.

For entrees had the seafood Risotto with fresh clams, mussels, calamari, extra large shrimp, and medium shrimp. It was amazing. The risotto was a little undercooked for my taste but the fresh taste of the seafood which was cooked to perfection just complemented the dish. It was a generous portion and had lots of shrimp. The waiter also bought a second plate for me to put the shells of the clams, muscles, and the tail of the Tiger shrimp.

The second dish was the Gnocchi with cream sauce. One word to describe it: WOW. Perfectly cook, the taste of the parmesan cheese was authentic. Very tasty, can’t go wrong with it.

The  service was wonderful, every few minutes someone would come by to ask if we were ok, if we needed anything, if we wanted extra bread not to mention that  the manager also suggesting the dish for me. Is a great place for any occasion,  great authentic food,  good vibe, and spectacular service.

Don’t forget if your celebrating an important occasion (or just want to relax) get a bottle of wine to see the wine angles in action.
